Rick Ross, Maybach Music clique headed to Fox Theatre

Supersize rapper Rick Ross is headed to Detroit’s Fox Theatre Dec. 15, promoters announced Wednesday.

He’s bringing members of his Maybach Music Group, including Meek Mill and Wale, with him for the tour date, part of the 2012 Maybach Music Group Tour. Tickets, $29.75, $49.75 and $79.75, go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday via Ticketmaster.

Ross’ last area concert was an April concert at the Pontiac Silverdome, a venue that was far too large and way too scattershot for such a concert. The Fox Theatre seems to be a better fit.

Ross also had troubles during his last visit to Detroit; his tour bus was ransacked in downtown Detroit during a promotional appearance in July.

“God Forgives, I Don’t,” Ross’ fifth studio album, was released in July and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart. It sold 218,000 copies its first week in stores.

Meek Mill’s debut album “Dreams and Nightmares” debuts at No. 2 on this week’s Billboard 200; it sold 167,000 copies its first week.

Machine Gun Kelly and DJ Scream are also due to appear at the Fox date.
