The Grammy Awards were good to Mumford & Sons, whose Album of the Year-winning “Babel” rises to No. 1 on this week’s Billboard 200 albums chart. The set sold 185,000 copies in the first full post-Grammy sales frame, Nielsen SoundScan reports, sending it from No. 4 on last week’s chart to No. 1. It makes “Babel’s” fourth non-consecutive week on top of the chart.
The Grammys also gave boosts to the 2011 Grammy Nominees compilation, which shoots to No. 2 on this week’s chart, along with Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift, who both jump back into the Top 5. Last week’s No. 1, Josh Groban, drops down to No. 5.
Unless this week’s new releases from Buckcherry or Kevin Eubanks unexpectedly set the chart on fire, Grammy holdovers may rule next week’s chart too.
