Adapted from “Mr. Wolf and the Three Bears” by Jan Fearnley, Harcourt, 2001
1/4 cup butter 2 tablespoons corn syrup 6 ounces semisweet chocolate 5 cups crisp rice cereal or cornflakes Paper cupcake cups
Put butter and corn syrup into pan. Add chocolate. With adult supervision, heat gently until melted. Add the cereal and mix together. Carefully spoon into cupcake cups. Allow to cool, then put in the fridge to harden.
Yields 24 servings.
Per serving: 76 calories; 4 g fat (2.5 g saturated fat; 47 percent calories from fat); 10 g carbohydrate; 5 mg cholesterol; 82 mg sodium; 1 g protein; 0.4 g fiber.
