It sounds as if the entire week heading into the Winter Classic could be a veritable hockey festival at Comerica Park.
While the Red Wings and Maple Leafs will be playing at U-M on Jan. 1, a series of events will be taking place at Comerica Park.
Such as:
The Great Lakes Invitational, which will delight the fans of those schools, for sure.
A game between the Grand Rapids Griffins and Toronto Marlies, the two minor league teams of the Red Wings and Maple Leafs.
The Plymouth Whalers and Windsor Spitfires, for Ontario League fans.
And high school and youth league teams, a nice touch indeed.
It’s an acceptable compromise for sure, considering the big event will be in Ann Arbor.
