Conklin wins in his debut with Grand Rapids

In case you missed it Ty Conklin’s debut Wednesday in Grand Rapids was successful.
Conklin stopped 22 shots as the Griffins defeated Hamilton 4-2 at Van Andel Arena.
It was Conklin’s first American League victory in more than four years.
Gustav Nyquist, by the way, had a goal and two assists for the Griffins.
Conklin didn’t see his first shot until 2 minutes 4 seconds remained in the first period – the only shot he saw in the first period.
Conklin hadn’t played since Feb. 4 (allowing three goals on nine shots in Edmonton) and hadn’t played a full game since Jan. 17.
Considering the lack of game action Conklin has had, it was a positive step overall.
