It's been fascinating to watch NHL, players wage this public relations war

There’s been nothing fascinating about this present NHL lockout.
Nothing at all.
But what has been interesting to watch, at least for me, is the public relations war the league (specifically Gary Bettman) and players association (Donald Fehr) have been waging.
More so than any other sports labor war in recent memory, it’s been amazing how the two sides have been posturing themselves to gain the support of the fans.
What few hockey fans are left, anyway.
The league released the entire offer they made to the PA yesterday to the public this morning, thereby increasing the pressure on the PA.
Soon enough, Fehr’s letter to players and agents was made public, pointing out the weaknesses of the NHL’s offer.
Fascinating.
Each side is putting pressure on the other, trying to make the other look bad.
And, I really wonder, how much closer are we to an agreement?
You wonder why there isn’t as much effort into constructing a new collective bargaining agreement.
