The Minnesota Wild informed staff Tuesday employees will need to take a 20 percent pay reduction next month if the NHL lockout continues.
Wild staff will begin a four-day, 32-hour work week on Dec. 9, with no layoffs planned. Paychecks would be reduced beginning Dec. 28.
The NHL has cancelled all games through Dec. 14. The league and the Players Association are scheduled to meet Wednesday with a federal mediator.
The Wild joined the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators as organizations that have gone to a four-day work week.
For now, the Red Wings and many other teams around the league have been able to stave off any sort of reductions.
The Wings have not made any adjustments to their staff according to John Hahn, vice-president of communications.
