Scary episode involving former Red Wings forward Jiri Hudler last night.
Hudler, who signed with Calgary as a free agent over the summer, had his neck cut by a skate.
Luckily the skate blade didn’t hit an artery and Hudler escaped needing only a “couple stitches” according to a Twitter report from the Czech League team, Trinec,Hudler is playing for during the NHL lockout.
This was the second time Hudler has gotten hurt during the lockout. Hudler had an abdominal injury which cut short his stay in the Russian Kontinental Hockey League early in the lockout.
Hudler just returned to playing, this was his second game back, before the neck injury.
