Lashoff, White put Red Wings ahead 2-1 after two periods

Okay, who had Brian Lashoff in the pool as the Red Wings first goal scorer of the season?
Nobody.
But Lashoff put the Wings ahead 1-0, Ian White added the other goal, and the Wings lead 2-1 after two periods.
Columbus forward Cam Atkinson cut the lead to 2-1 when he got sprung on a mini-breakaway – go figure, against the Wings’ defense – and beat goalie Jimmy Howard.
The Wings have out-shot Columbus 25-19 after two periods.
Good night so far for Johan Franzen, who set up White and provided a nice screen on the Lashoff goal.
