Patrick Eaves has gone through a long, difficult struggle to play tonight

The Red Wings will have one piece of good news tonight in Columbus, regardless of whether they win or lose.
Patrick Eaves will be in the lineup, almost 14 months after suffering a broken jaw and severe concussion.
Eaves, if you recall, took a a slapshot by Nashville defenseman Roman Josi off the side of his face while attempting to block a shot killing a penalty.
It’s been a long struggle for Eaves. Talking to him at points along these 14 months, you can tell it’s been painful and frustrating.
But tonight in Columbus, maybe a little quicker than anybody could have imagined, Eaves is back on the ice playing.
Good for him.
