Special teams are key in Red Wings overtime loss in Chicago

Special teams were the key issue in Sunday’s Chicago’s 2-1 overtime victory over the Red Wings.
The Red Wings had six power play chances and didn’t do anything with them, including four opportunities in the second period.
“It was huge. It was a second period of kills,” Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said. “The forwards, the defense blocking the shots and the key saves by Crow (goalie Corey Crawford). It was a group effort.”
Incidentally, the Blackhawks are now 6-0.
“Everybody deserves credit. The guys’ preparation going into the season, a real commitment to playing a team game,” Quenneville said. “Everybody’s contributing, everybody’s efforts are where we want them to be, everybody had conditioning to start with. Special teams, Crow in net, team game; we’re pleased.”
