Backes match penalty on Huskins is rescinded

To no one’s real surprise, the major given to St. Louis forward David Backes last night against the Red Wings has been rescinded.
Backes was called for illegal hit to the head of Red Wings defenseman Kent Huskins.
Replays showed Backes never made contact with Huskins’ head.
The Red Wings did score on the power play, Pavel Datsyuk breaking a 3-3 tie.
Huskins, incidentally, did suffer an upper body injury and is a game time decision for Saturday’s game against Columbus.
