Lidstrom, Holmstrom to sign autographs at Saturday's SportsFest

Nicklas Lidstrom will be back in town this week – just not wearing a Red Wings sweater.
Lidstrom and fellow retired former teammate Tomas Holmstrom will be signing autographs Saturday at 97.1 The Ticket’s Fourth Annual Detroit SportsFest.
The event is being held at Novi’s Suburn Collection Showplace Exhibit Hall A.
Lidstrom, a seven-time Norris Trophy winner, retired after last season after a Hall of Fame-bound 20-year career.
The Red Wings say Lidstrom is expected to attend both Wednesday’s game against St. Louis and Friday’s game against Anaheim.
It’s natural to presume Lidstrom will be acknowledged somehow by the organization, possibly by a ceremonial dropping of the puck in one of the two games.
Lidstrom’s No. 5 will be retired to the Joe Louis Arena rafters next season.
The SportsFest takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and admission is free with parking available for $5 per vehicle.
There will be an optional one-time donation fee of $10 at the door to be entered into a lottery system for the chance to win select athletes’ autographs including Lidstrom.
All of the funds received will benefit the 97.1 The Ticket/Beaumont Student Heart Check Program.
Attendees who make a donation will receive a numbered wristband and be entered into the lottery system. All other remaining athletes, including Holmstrom, will be signing free of charge on a first come, first served basis
