The Red Wings have recalled goalie Jonas Gustavsson and sent down goalie Petr Mrazek to minor league affiliate Grand Rapids. Pavel Datsyuk is back in the Red Wings lineup this evening. Datsyuk missed Friday’s game with a bruised shoulder but took part in Sunday’s morning skate and said he was feeling better. With Datsyuk playing, Patrick Eaves was bumped out of the lineup.

The Red Wings have waived goalie Joey MacDonald. If no team claims MacDonald, he will be assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins. MacDonald hasn’t played since March because of a bulging disc in his back. He has been practicing regularly over the last two weeks and appears to be healthy.
To those wondering this morning, the Red Wings don’t expect any further discipline from the league in regard to Johan Franzen’s spearing incident last night. Late in the third period, Franzen speared Blues forward David Perron earning a major penalty and game misconduct. Coach Mike Babcock said Franzen “over-reacted” on the play.
