Taxpayer of a Lesser God

I inquired about reality show gravy-trainer Marlee Matlin’s tax problems back in May. The Oscar-winning actress’ PR person never returned my call, but within hours, the former “Celebrity Apprentice” contestant and “Dancing with the Stars” vet ran into the understanding, cushy bosom of People magazine to whine about her tax woes. Surely a coincidence.

Turns out the tax man was getting warm. The IRS just hit the 46-year-old “Children of a Lesser God” star with a $170,000 tax lien.

What’s owed:

  • The IRS filed a $170,568tax lien against Matlin on Oct. 20 with the Los Angeles County Recorder of Deeds.
  • The state of California filed a $47,745 lien April 21 in Los Angeles.

The address on the newest lien is a Los Angeles office suite. Here’s the little old lady’s home (take a peek) in Pasadena.
