New ad for Mitt Romney: 'Disappearing'

Super PAC television advertising returned to Michigan on Wednesday with a new pro-Mitt Romney ad campaign.

The independent Restore Our Future will run a one-week, $1.2 million network and cable ad campaign in Romney’s home state highlighting millions of Americans who have given up on finding work because of the poor economy.

The Michigan ad buy marks the most significant presidential ad buy here in recent weeks as Romney and President Barack Obama have directed their resources to more competitive battleground states.

Through Labor Day, anti-Obama independent groups had spent nearly $11 million in TV ads here, compared to nothing for the Obama and Romney campaigns, according to the Michigan Campaign Finance Network.

Restore Our Future’s return to the airwaves in Michigan coincides with a $1 million ad buy in Wisconsin, home of Romney’s running mate, U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan.
