Why not leave Afghanistan now?

Ryan: We don’t want to lose the gains we’ve accomplished. We want to see the 2014 transition successful so this doesn’t become a launching pad for terrorists.

Biden: We are leaving in 2014 period. Afghans need to take responsibility. The only way they step up is we say we’re leaving.

Ryan: We don’t want to extend past 2014, but we need this to be successful, he says, sand points to current violence. “We are witnessing the absolute unraveling of Obama’s foreign policy.”
