Bid for travel deals in annual SATW auction

Get in on the final days of bidding for prizes such as hotel stays in the Canadian Rockies, Spain, Thailand, Portugal and Venice in the annual fundraising auction sponsored by the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW), North America’s largest organization of travel journalists.

The auction here
closes at 10 p.m. (MST) on Saturday, Nov. 20.

Items include attractions and hotels in the United States and around the world, and range from a Colorado culinary tour valued at $160 to four nights in Bali valued at $4,422. Bids for some items start as low as $25.

The auction, updated in real time, is similar to Ebay and other online goods for sale by bid. Browsers and bidders log on with a specially created ID and password and bid as often as they like.

Proceeds from the donated items go toward professional development programs for SATW members such as myself — I’ve belonged to the organization since 1985.
