Working with felt can be a fun and easy way to create an endless number of craft projects. Why, mainly because you can just cut and sew, no need for hems because the edges of the dense fabric don’t fray!
Amanda Carestio has put together an amazing collection of unique felt items you’ll want to make in her just released book, “Stash Happy Felt, 30 Fun Projects for Felt (and Fabric Lovers),” Lark Crafts/$16.95).
My favorite project in the book is the adorable pair of baby booties, designed by Cynthia Shaffer. They’re done in red felt and tied at the ankle with brown grosgrain ribbon, giving them the look of a pair of vintage high-top infant shoes.
For a chance to win a copy of the book, just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell me why you love working with felt. Please put the word “felt” in the subject line, and REMEMBER to include your name and address.
