Grab your size 6 and 8 knitting needles and stop by PK Yarn Over Knit Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon and learn to knit a simple pair of mittens made with two needles to be donated to persons in need this winter. The class fee is $10, and the required yarn for the pattern can be purchased at the shop.
PK Yarn Over Knit is partnering with Mittens for Detroit, a non-profit organization which donates “new and unused gloves and mittens to children and adults in Detroit.” The items are distributed through ten charities listed on their website.
The shop “plan(s) to have dozens of pairs hanging from clotheslines strung aroud the shop that will be donated” later this year.
PK Yarn Over Knit is located at 32 South Main Street in Clawson. For more information, call (248) 808-6630, or visit www.MittensForDetroit.org.
