Make 'Flip Dolls & Other Toys'

There’s lots of fun to be had with all the wonderful ideas and patterns found in “Flip Dolls & Other Toys That Zip, Stack, Hide, Grab & Go” (Lark/$19.95) by designer Laura Wilson.

What better way to use your scrap fabric than to make something exciting for a small child? Wilson takes you on an adventure through toyland, so to speak, with fascinating, but simple, ideas for creating cute cuddily toys. Projects include a bird, cars, a Christmas tree, a robot, a watch, a cat-fish turnover doll, a circus flip doll and a whale.

The back section of the book is filled with templates needed for creating the projects, and the easy-to-follow instructions makes it all “sew easy!

For a chance at winning a copy of the book, just email me at jbrown@detroitnews.com and tell me a sewing story. Please put the word “toys” in the subject line, and REMEMBER to include your name and address.

Good Luck!!!
