Snap a photo of your favorite Michigan beach

My favorite Michigan beach to catch a sunrise is a slight strip of sand along the western shore of Lake Huron, several miles north of Rogers City. I don’t think it even has a name, but if I lived closer, I would have snapped a photo and entered Life’s A Beach: Pure Michigan Instagram Challenge.

The aim of the 10-day Instagram challenge, which kicked off Friday and runs through Sunday, is to showcase Michigan’s varied beaches and the many activities all of us enjoy along the shores of the Great Lakes and inland waters.  Here’s how the challenge works: Snap a picture matching the day’s beach or activity challenge and post on Instagram with the tag @Pure Michigan and the hashtags #PureMichigan and #BeachChallenge.

The entries will be posted at michigan.org/beachchallenge. A winner will be selected each day and will be featured on the Pure Michigan Instagram account and receive a Personal Sun Care Kit from the Pure Michigan Store. The grand prize winner will have his or her photo featured across Pure Michigan social media channels and receive an Ultimate Pure Michigan Beach Day package that includes a beach towel, fire kit, tackle box, cooler and a sun care kit.

Unfortunately, the Challenge for Favorite Beach to Catch a Sunrise or Sunset has already passed. But there’s plenty more ahead.

Today’s Challenge: Favorite Beach for Watersports.

Coming up:

Wednesday: Favorite Beach for Fishing from the Shore or Dock

Thursday: Favorite Beach to Experience Clear Waters

Friday: Favorite Beach to Take a Long Walk

Saturday: Favorite Beach to Hang Out with Family and Friends

Sunday: Favorite Beach to Watch Fireworks
