When it comes to unique crocheted accessories, “It Girl Crochet, 23 Must-Have Accessories” (Interweave/F+W/ $22.99) really has it going on with patterns for practical and stylish wearables.
Written by Sharon Zientara, the former assistant editor for “Interweave Crochet” magazine, and currently manager at Skacel’s Makers’ Mercantile in Seattle, Washington, the book offers three different themes for the many featured projects, namely “romantic art nouveau, “retro-chic mod,” and “free-spirited bohemian.”
You’ll no doubt have a bit of difficulty choosing your first project because they’re all quite amazing. The selection of patterns includes a lacey roundel scarf, an op-art reversible scarf (really nice), a Victorian-inspired capelet, fingerless gloves, mittens, lace socks, a really cool belt, complete with buckle, and lots more.
For a chance at winning a copy of the book, just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, and include a story about how and when you learned to crochet. Please put the word “crochet” in the subject line, and REMEMBER to include your name and address.
