Busy Day for Tigers - many moves

1. They purchased the contract of catcher Omir Santos to free them to use Gerald Laird as a DH, yes, Gerald Laird against lefties.

2 They put Doug Fister back on the 15-day disabled list because of recurring soreness in his left side.

If it lasts as long as it did last time, see you in July, Doug.

3. Austin Jackson won’t be ready on Friday – the Tigers still don’t know when he’ll be back.

4. Casey Crosby will replace Fister and make his debut on Friday night against the Yankees at Comerica Park.

Crosby’s welcome-to-the-big-leagues counterpart will be CC Sabathia.

5. Danny Worth will get a longer look at second base.

He started Wednesday night against lefty Jon Lester and will also start on Thursday night against right-hander Josh Beckett
