Prince Fielder made a bid to help get the American League on the board, but he couldn’t quite get the ball over the head of National League left fielder Ryan Braun.
Fielder’s line shot was snared by Braun, who had to leap to make the catch, keeping the NL ahead 8-0 at the 2012 MLB All-Star Game.
Robinson Cano opened the bottom of the 4th with the AL’s second hit of the day, a single off of Nationals phenom Stephen Strasburg. Josh Hamilton followed by hitting into a 6-3 double play. Strasburg walked Jose Bautista, bringing up Fielder, who made the third out.
That will likely be the end of the night for Fielder.
