Tigers pitcher Doug Fister faces familiar foe

Doug Fister faces the White Sox for the third time in his last four starts as the Tiger play a makeup game at U.S. Cellular Field on Monday.

First pitch is 2:10 p.m.Fister (9-8, 3.49 ERA) beat the White Sox 5-3 on Sept. 11 in Chicago in his last outing. He allowed two hits and two earned runs over seven innings.

He also helped defeat the White Sox 7-4 on Aug. 31 at Comerica Park, but was not at his best and lasted only five innings because his pitch count was at 101.

He gave up four hits, two earned runs and four walks, and was not involved in the decision.Fister will be opposed by left-hander Jose Quintana.
