Tigers tie game in eighth but Villarreal gives lead back in loss

The Tigers went quietly in the ninth as Delmon Young, Jhonny Peralta and Andy Dirks went 1-2-3 and the team fell to the Minnesota Twins 4-2. Omar Infante tied the game up with a two-run homer in the eighth inning but Brayan Villarreal had a terrible bottom of the frame to allow Minnesota to strike back. The Tigers now have a 1 1/2 game lead on the Chicago White Sox with five games remaining. The White Sox currently lead the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1 in the seventh inning of that contest. Miguel Cabrera went 2-4 at the plate with two singles and maintains his lead in the American League batting title race.
