A's close -- but no cigar -- to moving ahead

Cliff Pennington made many Tigers fans gasp when he hit a long fly ball to left field — but it veered left and around the foul pole for a long strike. Pennington, who has two singles today, including a go-ahead RBI in the seventh, eventually walked on the at-bat against Phil Coke.
