Detroit — The last three innings provided all the drama that the fans at Comerica Park could handle.
But pinch-hitter Don Kelly answered the call in the ninth, propelling the Tigers to a 5-4 win over the A’s in Game 2 of the American League Division Series.
With the bases loaded, Kelly won it with sacrifice fly to center, scoring Omar Infante.
After Austin Jackson struck out to lead off the ninth, Infante laced a single to right — bringing up Triple Crown champ Miguel Cabrera. Cabrera answered with a single to center off a hanging breaking ball. A’s manager Bob Melvin then intentionally walked Prince Fielder to load the bases and face Kelly.
