Prince Fielder went yard in the fourth inning, making up for those hard shots that just didn’t fall in the past 24 hours.
The big shot was followed by Delmon Young and Andy Dirks singles, but A.J. Griffin killed the Tigers momentum by getting Jhonny Peralta to ground into a double play and Alex Avila to fly out.
With Max Scherzer dealing and the Tigers finally starting to look comfortable at the plate, things are looking good in Oakland.
