A's stun Tigers with 3-run ninth, win 4-3

The Tigers were three outs away from their second straight ALCS. But it wasn’t meant to be tonight.

Jose Valverde gave up a single, then a double, then another double that tied the game at three.

Then we thought we were going to extra innings after he got the next two guys out. Oh, but no, Coco Crisp delivered a game-winning single and now we’re heading to a do-or-die Game 5 in Oakland tomorrow night.

The silver lining? Justin Verlander will get the start.

I’ll be back tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 9:37 from Oakland.
