Josh Reddick put a charge into the first pitch from Justin Verlander of the fifth inning, but the cavernous stadium in Oakland allowed Austin Jackson to chase it down for the first out.
Brandon Moss got on base with a two-out single, just the second hit against the Tigers ace tonight. Verlander promptly struck out Derek Norris.
Verlander means business tonight. Let’s hope he sticks around and keeps dealing through the end of this game.
