Omar Infante bobbled a routine ground ball and Raul Ibanez doubled before Doug Fister got Alex Rodriguez to strike out and walked Nick Swisher to load the bases.
Fister then got Curtis Granderson and Russell Martin to strike out to wiggle out of a bases loaded jam for the third time in six innings.
These are not the Yankees we’re used to seeing in big situations, and that’s fine with Tiger fans. Doug Fister has stepped up his game when he’s needed to on a night where his stuff is not at its best.
