Jhonny Peralta hit a soft ground ball up the middle to become the Tigers first base-runner of the day. But the Tigers could not take advantage.
Hiroki Kuroda has been dealing against a Tigers lineup that looks like it just didn’t come to hit today.
Good for the Tigers, though, Anibal Sanchez has been nearly as good as Kuroda. He has five strikeouts while surrendering three hits and two walks through six innings. He got out of a jam in the sixth thanks to a sparkling, barehanded two-out play by Peralta with runners on the corners.
