Martin & Weyrich Moscato Allegro California 2010, $11-$16: You need a hostess gift this weekend? Just looking for something light and packed with flavor that you don’t have to analyze? Moscato Allegro leads the way in quality and flavors — and it’s just 7.5 percent alcohol. On the nose and in the mouth, it’s a blast of intense Mandarin orange, pineapple, honeyed peach and nectarine. It’s sweet with refreshing acidity to provide an edge. It’s produced in the style of Moscato D’Asti in Northern Italy, using Muscat Canelli grapes and sold in the traditional tall bottle. It’s widely available at stores including Discount Drinks, Wyandotte; Merchant’s Fine Wine, Dearborn; Holiday Market, Royal Oak; Wine Palace, Livonia.
